There is no single best time to visit Morocco, because the country has several climates. The right season depends on where you are going and what you want to do.
Spring and autumn
Spring (roughly March to May) and autumn (roughly September to November) are widely considered the most comfortable for combining cities, mountains and desert. Days are generally warm rather than extreme, though desert evenings can still be cool.
Summer
Summer is very hot in Marrakech, the interior and the Sahara. The Atlantic coast and the mountains are cooler, and a coastal or high-altitude trip can work well in July and August.
Winter
Winter days in the cities and the south are often mild and sunny, while nights are cold, especially in the desert. Snow is common in the High Atlas, which can affect mountain roads. Coastal areas can be wet and windy.
Ramadan and holidays
Ramadan follows the lunar calendar, so its dates shift each year. Daily life changes during the month, with many restaurants closed in the daytime and shorter working hours. Some travellers find it a fascinating time to visit, while others prefer to avoid it. It's worth checking dates when planning.
